Portal – CamRock Snow Plough, Legendary Banked Slalom

The Portal is an all-out powder rocket snowboard. Its nose, reminiscent of a snow plough, elevated and oversized for cutting through the white gold like a hot knife through butter.

Its tail, beautifully tapered and akin to that of a swallow, allows the rider to steer this magnificent beast through powder as gracefully as you like.

Also benefitting from a slight re-tune this year, those with a keen eye for detail will notice a slightly looser ride for this winter thanks to a reduction in wood in all the right places.

Equipped with our Float set of inserts, when the snow‘s extra deep, set back, relax and enjoy dropping pillows, slashing banks and staying afloat with our supreme flotation device.

BACKSEAT CAMROCK

The Backseat CamRock design places rocker in the nose and a slight amount in the tail with positive camber in between. This setback design delivers camber stability and control between the feet and in the tail, with the added float and maneuverability of the rockered nose.

  • CARBONBON

  • Pure carbon fiber slabs placed in a cross pattern under the inserts between the base and the core to enhance responsiveness, pop, torsional stiffness and amplify foot movement.

  • TRI-AX FIBERGLASS

  • Triax fiberglass is the time-tested classic. It features a three-way weave of premium fibers with strands running at 45-degree angles. It provides superior pop, consistent torsional flex, and more overall response.

  • LIGHTWEIGHT WOODCORE

  • Crafted with light density paulownia for lightness, poplar for responsiveness and hardwood beech stringers along the edges to increase core durability, pop and protection from edge impacts.

  • SINTERED BASE 7200

  • Our Sintered quality base is fast, durable and requires less waxing. We believe in using the best possible materials in our boards.

  • FLOAT INSERTS

  • An extra set of inserts set way back for those super deep days.

  • DIAMOND STONE FINISH

  • We add a slight diamond-structured stone grind to the base to maximize glide and optimize durability. It eliminates the slow, suction cup feel that comes with one-dimensional base finishes.

  • SINGULAR SIDECUT

  • A predictable and powerful sidecut with a single radius that makes for consistent turns. It’s ideal for intermediate and advanced riders who already know how to carve a turn, like to ride fast, and desire strong edge hold.

  • TAPERED SHAPE

  • The width of the nose is greater than the tail width. Tapered directional shape is usually designed to provide the best float in powder – promoting the tail to sink and the nose to rise.

  • WOOD TOPSHEET

  • No Plastic but real wood topsheet.

  • STEEL EDGES

  • We build our edges with 35% more steel content than the average. They are simply stronger and more durable than the alternative.

  • FACTORY WAXED

  • All Slash boards are factory waxed with OneBallJay wax and ready to shred straight out of the wrapper.

  • TIP PROTECTORS

  • Thin, light and surprisingly strong aluminum protectors that cap the base and edge at the tip and tail to protect the board from impacts.

  • KICK STAND

  • Our Original Identity shape saves material and weight and also stands up without tipping over like rounded boards do!

I have a lot of boards, I've ridden a ton of boards, not all are good and I have a quiver of favorites for different conditions. I won this board at the Mt Baker Legendary Banked Slalom and got to meet Gigi (bonus!). I asked him about the waist width cuz I have size 11.5 feet and need a 258 to 262mm I was stoked to find out it was 262. I took it with my prize pack to the van and drove 945 miles home to Utah. Once home I took the time to look at the sidecut, taper, camber from front foot to tail contact and rocker nose. I got stoked, super stoked especially on the nose and tail shape. Fuck I was scared at how fast I was going and tried to tune it down but the Portal won't be held back! Only 4 days on it but it just keeps amazing me. Hardpack to powder to tight & steep banked creek beds to lift line compliments on the shape. Dam this board is dope!
